Preliminary 1 (magazine)
In this task we were asked to make our own version of a school magazine, we (my group, Chanan, Jack and me) did a version of a sport magazine, involving P.E mainly.
With the colours of the magazine, we tried to make it look sporty with the grass reminding people of football rugby and other grass sports. The text of the main title is scribbled font to make it look more like school writing and also like a student has done it.
We also got a P.E. teacher on the front cover which will entice the students (regular readers) to read it as they recognise and have a connection with the character on the front cover (Mr Tabz). Also on the cover of the magazine we have a quote from Mr Tabz giving the reader a little insight of what the magazine contains. What we could have included (on the front cover of the magazine) is little pictures. This would give the reader a visual image of what is inside and also, maybe make it more eye-catching with having more colours. We also included a strap-line just to make it look more professional, plus the school emblem of Lutterworth Collage.
I have learnt a lot about producing a front cover of a magazine, all the different layers, texts, font and images. I know how many pictures to do and how many different fonts to use.
